They Just Pop Up No.5

Picture is of Denis Law by the famous artist Harold Riley. It's part of 'A Photography Retrospective 1943 - 2007' - begins and ends in Salford, via locations around the world. Venue is The Lowry, Salford, 6th October right through until April 20th 2008 - so plenty of time to miss it. Free admission but you usually get stung in car park charges. Photograph taken in 1966, when Denis would have been 26 and the King at Old Trafford.

In the news this week is Norman Whiteside - Manchester United 1982-1989, Everton 1989-1991. Got a new book out called "Determined : My Biography". Retired due to injury aged 26. He's done a previous book "My Time at Manchester United" in 2003.

He's doing a few book signings - three around Manchester / Trafford this week.

They Just Pop Up No.3

Henning Berg, manger of FC Lyn Oslo (this page is in English) and former Manchester United player (1997 - 2000). I'll never forget his clearance off the line in a European tie on the way to winning it in 1999. I'm a bit unclear but it was a close run thing to get through, might have been against Inter Milan.

Yes he gets a Wikipedia entry. The Norwegian season is now over half way through - let's get it finished before the big snows come. Maybe a UEFA Cup place next year if their form picks up.
