Did we expect anything from the Bridge?

Chelsea 1-0 United
Premiership 2009/10; attendance 41,836; Sky Sports 1
We'd already been written off by the pundits before the match based on recent form and a history of going to Stamford Bridge and coming away with nothing.

Now rarely do I criticise referees but today some of the decisions were a little suspect. But that's football and when Chelsea got their goal from the result of a free-kick that was one of those decisions the game was won. This was never going to be a goal-fest.

But a good display by the Reds, still pressing right to the end, and a tireless effort from Wayne Rooney. Actually loosing at Stamford Bridge is never that bad and doesn't end the title challenge.

Onward to the next match which is in two weeks. That's due to another interruption to the Premiership for some pointless England friendly. A game against Brazil in the middle east for the global Tv audience and a pot of money for the two associations.
