What am I doing at the Heineken Cup?

Sale Sharks 27-26 Cardiff Blues
Heineken Cup Group Stage;
Edgeley Park, Stockport; attendance 8,156

Sale Sharks Mascot
Shakey start by The Sharks but then they got motoring and got their win. So what am I doing at a rugby match? It's only the second game I've attended but you have to see what it's all about.

The crowd is nice middle class people. They don't sing, chant or swear. Nor jump up and down or punch the air like I'm used to an association football game - socker! Actually do have a chant and it goes like this "Say-el, say-el".

I'm out of my depth with the ref's hand signals. Fortunately my old mate David is with me and tells me what's going to happen every time the game stops. It does stop quite a lot and there is a lot of palaver whilst everyone takes up new positions on the pitch.

But overall it's an agreeable night out in Stockport, plus you can have a pint of Guinness with the game something you're banned from doing at footie. Considering another visit next January to see the Toulouse match.

Never mind the Match Report but you can read it and it's about right.
Admission £29.50, pint of Guinness £3.50, took home a free blue flag to wave around.
