FA Cup half way to Wembley

Now it's the first round draw the big media can take an interest. The draw was broadcast live by ITV for half an hour, and they managed to obtain some adverts for motor cars during the break. Must have some viewers then. The most complicated task is making sure there are enough black balls in the pot. I imagined the scenario of having one short at the end and a national scandal blowing up. No worries when you have the veteran ever professional broadcaster, Jim Rosenthal doing the proceedings. He probably has a fact on hand to say when the draw did get messed up?

All my local teams from the first seven rounds are out - Salford City, Altrincham and FC United disposed of this week. When Northwich Victoria were drawn against Charlton Athletic I thought of what might have been had we not lost against them 3-0 the day before. The ifs of football - not even worth going there.

Ties to played over the weekend Saturday 7th & Sunday 8th November which means Tv coverage for a couple of games. Expect to see Oldham Athletic v. Leeds United, and very possibly Paunton Rovers v. Norwich City on the screen.

UPDATE : Oldham v. Leeds to be streamed free by the FA themselves on the internet Saturday 7th Nov ko 1715h in partnership with that Perform company. Paulton v. Norwich on ITV1 7th Nov ko. 1245, and Northwich Victoria v. Charlton Athletic on Sunday 8th ITV1 ko 1330h
