This was a classic game in the long history of Spurs encounters. It's got everything. Attacking football and two wily old foxes of Sir Alex and Old Harry directing operations.

What we got
a) ridiculously early goal by Defoe whilst United's defence were sorting themselves out. An over head kick as well.
a) Ryan Giggs scores a curler from a free kick. Old time magic.
b) Anderson scores from open play for the first time. Left foot into the right corner. He scored the other day with the Reserves but this was on the big stage.
c) Paul Scholes gets sent off. 15 years of late and clumsy tackles. By now you just accept that it's too late to change.
d) Wayne Rooney - pure class, down to 10 men then beat off two defenders and nutmeg the keeper.

Well happy with the result and with the ESPN coverage. Did anyone notice the little red dot under the team that had a player sent off?
