We love wingers at OT

Signed another wing player Gabriel Obertan. So two new wingers now and little Michael Owen hovering in the box. Interesting developments for the new season. Actually we love wingers at Old Trafford, and so do the commentators of football who always express delight as though it is daring and novel.

The other point of interest is that the signing is from FC Girondins de Bordeaux who are managed by Laurent Blanc. Always liked him when he played the last years of his football career at Old Trafford. No longer fast, could get caught out but still nip the ball from most well paid Premiership forwards half his age with an outstretched leg at the correct moment. Played with his socks half way down his leg, used to kiss Bartez's head before every match for France or as needed.

Looking at football, and this would make a great PhD study for someone with lots of time, there are definite trading routes between clubs based on who you know and who gets the phone calls. Last player between Liverpool and United was 1961 but if a United player went to City you wouldn't be surprised, or if Roy Keane now at Ipswich bought half a dozen from United in the next 12 months.
