Barca better team on the night

Barcelona 2-0 United
Champions League Final; Stadio Olympico, Roma; att: 72,700
Not the dream end of the season we'd wished for. United just didn't play well enough. It was like watching an opposition team come to Old Trafford. We had the 10 minutes looking good, but when they scored it was like someone had put a hole in your inflatable bed. Didn't get back on terms, didn't boss the mid-field. The 70th minute goal put another a hole in it and it all fizzled down to the hard ground of uncomfortable reality. Did hold onto the belief of a comeback with Berbatov and Tevez coming on. But not to be. The consolation is we lost to Barcelona. A very good side who played the better tactics and better football on the night.

You can only win four trophies in a season, just have to settle for two of them. Football always let's you down that's why you have to really celebrate when you do actually win something. Finished the beer, then had half a bottle of Italian red wine, went to bed. It all starts again in August.

Let's face it, if we continually win every trophy going with easy, it would become very boring. Whilst the hype was how good we were, this season we ground out results, and no way we could do that against a team as good as Barcelona.

I think the heat and the hype got to the team. If we'd have been underdogs, pressure off we might have done better. Here's to next season.
