Another big European night and for once I was very calm before the match. I think it was because the opposition was Arsenal. A very good footballing side but you know what they play like and you know they let in goals. Too close to call the result could be any score.
Fantastic atmosphere in the stadium. Noisy, chanting, singing and standing up. I was glad of a half time sit down. It was made even better by being a goal ahead from the unlikely John O'Shea. United were the best team on the pitch. The players stuck to their positions Rooney on the left, Ronaldo on the right, Tevez in the middle.
It's a pity that for all this best effort both from the team and the supporters has resulted in only a one goal advantage. Going to be on edge for the second leg. Unpredicatable drama my nerves will be shreds. Whatever the result of the tie I know I've seen one of United's best performances against top opposition.
I'll make a note of the heroes this night:
Van der Sar, O'Shea, Ferdinand (Evans 87), Vidic, Evra, Fletcher, Carrick, Anderson (Giggs 66), Ronaldo, Tevez (Berbatov 66), Rooney.
Subs Not Used: Foster, Park, Scholes, Rafael Da Silva.
