Nemanja wins it in injury time

A last gasp goal by Nemanja Vidic in the first minute of injury time of the four minutes added on. We loved it and went home happy, the crowd singing his name as they left the stadium.

But what a wait. First the kick isn't until 1730h kick off after the other top teams have won. Sit through a tedious first half with all the action at the far end of the pitch. Then you watch wave after wave of United attacks get thwarted by resolute defending. One goal is what wanted and eventually it happened. Sunderland must have been gutted. They played well and grew stronger as more crosses were cleared and more shots were blocked.

We were on our feet for the last ten minutes willing on more effort. Nobody left early, well not in the Stretford End. You go to a game third in the table, and Sunderland third from bottom which on paper looks like a sackful of goals. In the end you're happy with Nemanja Vidic getting to a loose ball that's come off the metalwork.
