A draw was enough
United 2-2 Aalborg Boldspilklub
UEFA Champions League Group E; attendance 74,382

When you go a goal up in three minutes you expect the floodgates to open. But no, sat back, missed opportunities, get caught out and at half time 1-2 down. Scholes, Park and some other bloke came on during the the break to warm up. So you know that changes would be made for the second half. The first half was a pretty poor performance. At a lot of other clubs the team would be booed off but that doesn't happen at Old Trafford.
In the end getting a draw didn't matter 'cos Villarreal lost at Celtic 2-0. So came top of the group. Highlights for me was Scholes doing the long passes over everyone's head to find Gary Neville. It was like the team of yesteryear. That's one of the problems with trying out different formations you don't get that link up play that can only come from working with who you know. It comes from split second timing in a well rehearsed at.
