Sent off with a DIY receipt

The local freesheet cheered me up today with a story about a referee in the Lancashire & Cheshire Amateur League. A small catalogue of mishaps. Forgot his red and yellow cards and fumbling in his pockets he found his an orange B&Q receipt and brandished that. Forgot his watches for another match, but ran the game by checking his mobile phone for the time.

However not having a clue is no reason to get suspended. That came from having a few bevvies, turning up at refs meeting about the Respect Charter and then heckling the speaker. Escorted from the meeting.
