Old Trafford Yankee Theme Park

It's sort of true, there is something billed as the "Great American Theme Park" going to open in one of the car parks next to Old Trafford for a couple of weeks. Essentially fairground rides, and a bloke on stilts dressed in an Uncle Sam outfit.

You can almost hear the words in the boardroom "we must leverage our assets by maximising our revenue streams". So 30 rides and attractions on that land out front, a deal with some Saudi telecom company to sell video clips on mobile phones, full ticket prices for any Carling Cup games - they used to be about a fiver cheaper than Premiership games, and a new hut selling merchandise outside the Stretford End just in case you don't want to battle the hordes on matchday in the Megastore. The season has only just started.....

Apart from paying more for a Carling Cup game, and maybe it'll be better than the shoddy defeat at the feet of Coventry City last season I won't be going for any of the other expenses.
