Prices Up No Surprise
Next season it's a wee hike of 10 percent for our season tickets - inflation plus an extra 7 percent for merchant bankers. Plus you have to buy all the cup games. Nothing I didn't expect. Prediction : same again for 2008/09. It's all very simple supply and demand economics. Might be some whines but the seats will sell until there is bad season, two bad seasons bif financial trouble.
a) capitalism works on expansion - sudden downturns produce big casualties (Leeds United in football terms)
b) think short term says the system, so milk it
c) if you can get away with it call it "business"
d) if it fails, walk away - a supporters trust, or someone else will pick up the bits...
But there is a point as in all supply and demand graphs when you as an individual walk away, or have to because of the price. There will be that time 2008, 2009...for some it was 2005...but that point will inevitably come with price rises but it's not this year.
