Torino Memorial & Les Leivesley

Whilst reading the Chesterfield FC web site I delved into the history section. I was looking for when the club was called Chesterfield Municipal FC, before the Football League put an end to "football on the rates".

Article about Les Leivesley, a former player at the club, and Doncaster Rovers, Manchester United (briefly), Torquay United and Crystal Palace. Actually only played two games for United in March 1932.

On May 4^th 1949 the aircraft bringing the all-conquering Serie A champions Torino back from a friendly at Benfica crashed into a hill on the outskirts of Turin. All those on board were killed, including Les Leivesley a Trainer at the club at the club.
