The Ball of Fortune

A story today was about the founding of the PFA in Manchester 100 years ago. So you do the internet search, and as always you go off tangent. Billy Meredith was one of the founders, so let's go down that track of the famous City, then United, back to City player.
a) In a silent film "The Ball of Fortune" in 1926...we'll never see it, wish I could..
b) Died 19th April 1958 at Withington, Manchester. Buried in Southern Cemetary, Manchester.
c) Also played for Chirk, Wrexham and Northwich Victoria before going to Manchester.
d) Chewed a toothpick whilst playing...health and safety issues today.
