World Game or backyard

Ya, ya, ya it's the world game but most of us don't even know what's going on in football on the other side of the globe. Is that just me? Last night AlJazerra TV (Sky 514, it's a favourite news channel for me) had a story about the Palestine national team. National stadium bombed by the Israeli army, travel restrictions on players getting to training...it's a story of determination just to play a game and all of them away fixtures.

Then i stumbled onto the FIFA World Club Championship 2006. Well Barcelona will be there in Japan. Along with SC Internacional of Brazil, Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors (Republic of Korea), Club América (Mexico), Al Ahly Sporting Club (Egypt) and Auckland City FC (New Zealand). As no British teams are involved I doubt it'll reach our TV screens. Starts 10th December, final 17th December. I remember United's uninspired entry in this tournament back in 2000.
