Lancashire Senior Cup

A competition started in 1879/80 season. Won by Newton Heath 1898. Won by Manchester United 1913, 1914, 1920 (Joint with Liverpool), 1929, 1938, 1941, 1943, 1946, 1951 and 1969. Got knocked out by Oldham Athletic this season. At one time these local cup competitions had significance - when football was very much a local affair. Wigan Athletic have been winners in recent years of this trophy.
